Hope I’m wrong, but won’t be surprised if this app goes away within the year. Haven’t received any response to multiple messages to their support email, not even an auto-acknowledgement.Īs a former Honeyfi/Firstly user before they shut down their consumer app, Honeydue seems to be showing similar pre-shutdown signals. Even more worrying, in the last couple months the support team seems to have gone completely dark. But recent “updates” have removed features that would seem to be relatively critical (RIP Tip Jar and Support Chat). At first the support team was great about responding to issues and trying to resolve sync errors. Even back when I first joined there were some outdated and stale websites for major banks and financial institutions that caused some account adding/syncing challenges. However, this app seems to be suffering from some back-end issues and a curious lack of user support that seems to be degrading over time. Default categories are a nice balance of comprehensive and simple. Able to add most major accounts via integration with Finicity, Plaid, etc. UX and most features are well designed and easy to use. Good foundation, lacking upkeep, troubling signs I’m also an app developer, so I’ll consider making an app for me and my boyfriend to use instead. There’s Tandem, but it wasn’t as good because it didn’t have the categories, which was the most important to us for budgeting. Otherwise, I’ll have to look into another app that can do it all for couples. I know that it’s probably because this app is free so it’s less ROI to be maintaining the app, but at least keep it usable! I would be happy to pay some subscription fee to keep using the app, I think it provides that much use in my life and that it’s worth at least that much. It’s sad to see that this app has been deprioritized, but at the same time we don’t want to go back to Splitwise. At one point we couldn’t edit our budget categories anymore. The app always shows “failed to load” on app start. “Pending” transactions stay pending forever. The transactions haven’t been refreshing lately and are often out of date. This app did everything my boyfriend and I needed to keep track of our shared expenses, but the recent lack of upkeep and increase in bugginess has made the app much less usable for us.
